Neelkanth Mahadav Tempal
Neelkanth is just 32 km. from Rishikesh via Barrage and 22 km. via Ram Jhoola, this place blends all possible shades of religious fervour that one can think of, mythological significance and picturesque beautiful surroundings. According to mythological belief, this place derived its name from Lord Shiva. It is believed that it was present day Neelkanth where Lord Shiva consumed the venom which emanated durimg the ' Samudra Manthan ' due to this, His throat became blue in colour, thus giving Shiva the name of Neelkanth.
This place is proud owner of centuries old temples with celestial aura and legendary ambience. At 926 meters, amidst three valleys (vishnukoot, Brahmakoot and Manikoot ) and on the confluence of Madhumati and Pankaja rivers awaits Neelkanth mahadev. Neelkanth Mahadev is 22 km. from Swargashram. The 12 km. trekkable road is surrounded by dense forests, a sight every trekker would love to behold. This place is just 12 kms (by Transport Service) & 24 Km. (by own Vehicle) from Rishikesh and is surrounded all possible dreamed attraction of peaceful forests and rivers.
